You have the opportunity to impact Australian higher education by completing the 2014 University Experience Survey (UES) this August and September.
This survey is the largest survey of Australian higher education students, with over 600,000 students being invited to provide online feedback about their university including: teaching quality; skills development; learner engagement and learning resources.
The UES give current university students the opportunity to talk about their university experience and make a difference to Australia’s education. The results from the survey are used to help both universities and government improve teaching and learning in Australia.
In August or September a random selection of undergraduate students will be invited via email to participate in this survey. There will be a link to the questionnaire, allowing you to voice your opinion about your unique higher education experience.
The survey is administered by two online leading research organisations, Graduate Careers Australia and the Social Research Centre. These valuable results will help universities and government improve the student experience, gain insight into students’ experiences at university and enhance teaching and learning in Australian universities.
chart info – – The graph below shows that most students rated the quality of teaching at their university as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’. In addition, to this, the vast majority of students (95%) reported that their teachers seemed helpful and approachable.
The following graph shows the percentage of students who rated their skills development as ‘quite a bit’ or ‘very much’. The vast majority of graduates felt that their university experience developed their knowledge of the field that they were studying (77%), although just over half felt that their study had developed their spoken communication skills.
We encourage you to participate but your involvement is voluntary. All responses are confidential and will be used by universities and governments to improve the student experience.
